Section 97 is part of Region I which is composed of Section 94 (Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont), Section 96 (Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut) and Section 99 (New Jersey).

A Message from the Section Chair

Hi everyone! I am honored to have been re-elected to serve as your Section Chair for the 2009-2010 term. With the help of Section 97 Staff, during my first term I started to lay the foundation for the future of the section by appointing new alumni brothers to serve as Section 97 Staff to guide the chapters and help the section flourish. During my second term, we will continue to assist the chapters of Section 97 in meeting their goals and help them find answers to their questions.

Over the past year, the section has grown in several different ways. We welcomed Kappa Epsilon at Wagner College into Section 97 as a new chapter in 2008. Also, with chapter sizes growing and with the addition of several new staff members, Section 97 looks to continue the growing trend well into the future. The staff is here to help the chapters, please let us know how we can assist you. The spring sectional conference hosted by Kappa Epsilon chapter at Wagner College was a huge success. Next spring’s conference will be hosted by Alpha Gamma Gamma chapter at Hunter College, Mardi Gras style! The chapters of Section 97 did great work this semester. I hope you have a great summer, and I look forward to starting an exciting year in Alpha Phi Omega's Section 97 in the fall!

Over the coming year, we will be having a contest to see which chapter can send the most brothers to inter-chapter events. I hope to see everyone using this to get to know their fellow brothers better. And with the Regional Convention just across the bridge into New Jersey this December hosted by Pi Upsilon Chapter at Drew University, I hope to see Section 97 well represented at Regionals!
