IN ALL CAPS, PUT AN INTRO SENTENCE STATING WHAT’S HAPPENING, WHO IS HOSTING THE EVENT, WHEN THE EVENT IS HAPPENING AND WHERE
LOCATION, STATE —The first sentence should be the lead into the story. It should include all the basic details, the 5W’s.
This is the body of the story. Here you can include the finer details of the event such as what the event will include, if any people are being featured, if there will be food/beverages, any fun activities etc.
Be sure to specify what community this event is open to (the school community, the neighborhood, general public…) Depending on the size of the event, you may also want to include if you have any outside vendors/restaurants catering etc.
Make sure to mention if you are collaborating with any other clubs, organizations, etc.
State the charity/non-profit/cause that you are fundraising for or that the event it benefitting. You can include a sentence about what that charity specifically does.
Here you should mention the price of attending the event (entrance fee/ticket sales/free etc.) Also include if the guests need to bring money to buy anything (food, raffles, merch etc.)
End with the time the event begins, where specifically it is happening/sign-up information etc. and mention how long it is expected to last.

You can also include an About section for whatever other organization or charity that you’re working with or benefitting
At the bottom of the release always put ###, this informs the journalist reading the release that they have received all the information you intended to send them
